Goeppertia crocata 'Candela' stands out with bright orange bracts held above a dense clump of dark green, strongly wavy leaves with deep red undersides, making it one of the few Marantaceae grown as much for bloom as for foliage. Indoors it usually stays around 30–50 cm tall and broad, so it brings strong colour and structure without taking up much room.
Bright filtered light, stable warmth, higher humidity, and a loose humus-rich mix help it stay in good shape. Water when the top 15–25% of the substrate has started to dry, but do not let it swing between soggy and fully dry.
Remove spent flower stems at the base and keep conditions steady, as healthy foliage remains the main display between flowering cycles even when repeat flowering is not immediate. Mature rhizomatous clumps can be divided during repotting.
