Yucca gigantea is the classic cane yucca grown indoors for thick trunks topped by rosettes of narrow, upright leaves that give a strong vertical shape without looking too heavy. It handles dry air, irregular watering, and bright conditions better than many leafy houseplants, making it a durable long-term specimen for sunny rooms.
Let most of the substrate dry before watering again, use a fast-draining mix with mineral material or perlite, and keep it in the brightest position available for the tightest growth. Older leaves dry and drop naturally as the cane matures, and height can be controlled by pruning the stem when needed. Compared with many other yuccas, the tips are softer and lack a hard terminal spine, though it is still not a plant to wedge into narrow, high-traffic spaces.
