Tillandsia xerographica is grown for its large silvery rosette of broad leaves that curl elegantly from the tips, which is why it is often treated as a living design object even before it flowers. Dense trichomes help the plant handle bright light and fairly dry conditions, but it still needs full watering at intervals, followed by fast drying and strong airflow around the base.
It is slower and larger than common beginner Tillandsia, making it better as a single specimen on a bowl, mount, or hanging support where the broad spiral can be viewed from all sides. With patience it can become impressively large and later produce a tall colourful inflorescence, then pups, so it suits growers who value form, scale, and long-term presence over speed. Drying fast is crucial.
