Tillandsia harrisii is a silver air plant with thick tapering leaves and a compact upright form that keeps its shape well on mounts, shelves, and other bright open displays.
Dense trichomes make it more tolerant of strong light and quick drying than greener species, but it still needs regular full watering rather than occasional light misting if you want the leaves to stay firm and healthy.
After soaking or rinsing, excess water should be shaken out and the plant dried angled downward so moisture does not stay trapped in the centre. It performs best in bright filtered to gently sunny positions with good airflow, and it is especially useful when you want an air plant that reads as a small specimen rather than filler in a mixed arrangement. Drying fast is crucial.
