Semi-Hydro Mix

Use Semi-Hydro Mix in pots or systems that can hold a small water column at the bottom.

• Containers: choose pots without drainage holes or with an inner reservoir so a water column can form under the granules.
• Rinsing before use: rinse the substrate to remove dust and pre-wet it so capillary action starts reliably.
• Transitioning plants: remove as much old soil as possible, rinse roots gently and move the plant into Semi-Hydro Mix, spreading roots through the granules.
• Water level: maintain a shallow water column at the bottom (usually up to 1/3 of the pot height), then top up as it drops.
• Fertiliser: always add a suitable liquid fertiliser to the water, or use a compatible slow-release fertiliser in the substrate; the mix itself contains no nutrients.
• Flushing: regularly flush the pot with clean water to wash out accumulated salts and keep nutrient uptake efficient.
• Monitoring roots: in clear or semi-transparent pots you can easily check root colour and health and adjust water level if needed.
