Plant Set: Velvet Foliage: Quick Overview
Velvet Foliage combines Alocasia micholitziana 'Green Velvet', Philodendron gloriosum and Philodendron melanochrysum in one trio built around tactile leaves and bright veins rather than flowers. The three plants share a velvety finish, but each grows differently and carries a different outline.
Included in the bundle
- Alocasia micholitziana 'Green Velvet' – compact arrow-like leaves with clear white venation.
- Philodendron gloriosum – creeping growth with broad heart-shaped foliage.
- Philodendron melanochrysum – climbing habit with longer velvety leaves.
- Plants arrive in mixed medium sizes, roughly 25–40 cm depending on species.
This set has more range than it first appears. You get a compact upright Alocasia, a creeping Philodendron and a climbing Philodendron, so the group stays unified in texture but varied in habit.
Best conditions
- Keep humidity above roughly 60% for cleaner, better-shaped leaves.
- Provide bright indirect light and avoid harsh direct sun.
- Water when the top 2–3 cm of mix are dry.
- Use a structured aroid mix and remember that gloriosum creeps while melanochrysum climbs.
Go for Velvet Foliage if you want a texture-led aroid set with real contrast in shape, habit and leaf finish.
