Phlebodium aureum 'Blue Star' is a pet-safe epiphytic fern with soft blue-green fronds that arch and twist in a much looser, more sculptural way than ordinary house ferns. Its wavy lobes and cool colour make it especially useful when you want calmer foliage that still adds shape and movement.
Phlebodium aureum 'Blue Star' likes bright indirect light, evenly moist but airy substrate, and humidity above average, though it is more tolerant than fussier fern species. The golden rhizomes should stay near or above the substrate surface, not buried deeply.
This is a very good fern for mixed foliage displays because it lightens the palette, softens harder leaf shapes, and stays safe around pets while still feeling more collected than a standard green fern.
