Philodendron 'Sunlight' is a compact self-heading hybrid with broad ovate leaves that open in rich red tones and then deepen to dark glossy green, keeping warmth in the new growth without turning into a climber. It forms a rosette rather than a vine, so the plant stays upright and full without needing a pole or pruning to manage its shape. Most indoor plants settle between 50 and 80 cm tall.
Bright, indirect light enhances the red flush, while watering once the top 2–3 cm of substrate has dried helps prevent the yellowing associated with heavy, wet mixes. A barky aroid substrate, temperatures around 20–28 °C, and humidity in the 60–75% range keep the leaves broader and cleaner. Like other philodendrons, it contains calcium oxalate and should be placed out of reach.
