Philodendron grandipes is a broad-leaved foliage plant that can be grown upright, allowed to trail, or given support to climb, which makes it more flexible than many species with a stricter habit. The leaves are dark green, semi-glossy, and heart-shaped, giving a lush but straightforward tropical effect without velvet, silver, or variegation. Mature plants can become substantial indoors if given space, reaching close to floor-plant size rather than staying on a shelf.
Bright, indirect light works best, though medium light is tolerated, and watering after the top 3–5 cm of substrate has dried helps avoid the yellowing that comes with heavy, wet roots. It likes 18–27 °C, humidity from 60–80%, and a loose mix with bark, coir, and perlite. Like other philodendrons, it is toxic if ingested and should be placed accordingly.
