Philodendron 'Glorious' blends Philodendron gloriosum and Philodendron melanochrysum into a hybrid that combines velvety heart-shaped leaves with a true climbing habit. The foliage stays dark green with bright contrasting veins and becomes more dramatic as the plant is trained upward rather than allowed to sprawl. With support, indoor plants can approach around 1.5 m, and leaves enlarge steadily under warm, humid, stable conditions.
Bright, indirect light keeps the velvet surface looking rich without scorching, while a chunky aroid mix and moderate watering after the top layer dries help maintain the balance between moisture and airflow that this hybrid needs. Humidity between about 60 and 80% suits it well.
It is toxic if ingested and mainly appeals to growers who want velvety foliage on a plant that climbs rather than creeps.
