Philodendron gloriosum 'Dark Form' is a darker selection of the creeping species, keeping the same broad velvet heart shape but deepening the background leaf colour so the pale veins stand out more sharply. It is not a climber and should not be treated like one; the rhizome wants to move horizontally through a wide shallow pot rather than upward on a pole. That growth style is a major part of the plant’s appeal, because each new leaf emerges as the rhizome advances and slowly builds a low, dramatic display.
Bright, indirect light, watering after the top 3–5 cm of substrate has dried, and a loose aroid mix keep the rhizome healthier than constant moisture. It prefers 18–25 °C, humidity around 60–80%, and filtered or softer water if mineral buildup is an issue. It is toxic if ingested.
