Philodendron 'Congo Apple' is a self-heading hybrid known for bright apple-green new leaves that gradually mature to a darker glossy green, so the plant usually carries two tones at once. Broad, leathery leaves and an upright clustered habit make it useful where you want a bold tropical look without climbing stems or sprawling growth. Most plants reach around 60–100 cm indoors and stay manageable in pots because the rosette remains compact and symmetrical.
Bright, indirect light gives the freshest colour and strongest growth, though medium light is usually tolerated. Water when the upper few centimetres of the substrate have dried, use a chunky aroid mix with bark and perlite, and keep the plant warm and moderately humid.
This is a toxic philodendron but also a very forgiving self-supporting hybrid for growers wanting easy big-leaf structure indoors.
