Philodendron 'Caramel Pluto', also traded as 'Chocolate Empress' or simply 'Pluto', is a self-heading hybrid grown for thick glossy leaves with serrated edges and a clear colour shift from caramel-toned new growth to deep green maturity. The plant keeps an upright, rosette-forming structure and generally reaches around 60–90 cm, so it brings bold foliage without needing any climbing support. Its leaves are heavier and more leathery than those of softer philodendrons, which helps them hold shape and gloss indoors.
Bright, indirect light supports the strongest colour and compact growth, while a chunky aroid mix and moderate watering after the upper layer dries help prevent rot. Humidity above average improves leaf expansion, but the plant adapts well to typical indoor rooms. This is a toxic philodendron selected mainly for colour change, texture, and compact form.
