Juvenile foliage starts simpler, but as the plant matures and receives support or room to creep, the leaves lengthen and become more dramatically divided, sometimes reaching around 50–70 cm indoors. The growth habit is creeping or climbing rather than self-heading, so it performs best with a moss pole, trellis, or wide planter that lets the stems run horizontally.
