Pfeiffera asuntapatensis is a fine-textured epiphytic cactus from Bolivian cloud forests, grown for its slender segmented stems that trail in soft, flowing lines rather than stiff, desert-cactus form. The segments are lightly flattened, shallowly notched, and mid green, sometimes taking on a reddish cast in brighter conditions. Indoors it is best displayed in a hanging pot or elevated container where the stems can drape naturally to around 30–60 cm without crowding.
Bright indirect light, good airflow, and an airy epiphytic mix with bark, pumice, and a small amount of organic matter suit it far better than dense cactus soil. Water when the top layer is dry but do not leave it bone dry for long stretches, since it comes from humid montane habitats. It is not known to be toxic and reads as a quiet, refined hanging cactus.
