Peperomia dolabriformis 'Fire Sparks' has a very different look from mound-forming peperomias, building an upright shrubby clump of thick, folded leaves that resemble little green pods or prayer hands. The leaves are bright green with translucent upper windows and can develop soft red edging in strong indirect light, which gives the plant extra detail without losing its architectural simplicity. It usually reaches around 30–40 cm and works well in bright, compact spaces where you want a more sculptural succulent-style plant.
Let the substrate dry fully between waterings, use a gritty, fast-draining mix, and keep temperatures warm, as this species is much more tolerant of brief drought than of soggy roots. The plant is non-toxic and remains tidy with minimal pruning.
