Passiflora ornithoura is a rare small-flowered passionflower whose bilobed leaves resemble narrow tails or a raised V-shape, giving the vine a sculptural look even when it is not in bloom. Close up, the flowers reward attention with green and pale purple segments and short corona filaments tipped in yellow, so the display is intricate rather than large or flashy.
As a member of the Decaloba group from humid Central American forests, it prefers bright indirect light, evenly moist substrate, and higher humidity than many tougher balcony vines tolerate. A fine trellis or mesh allows the stems to climb naturally and shows off both foliage and flowers better than letting the plant trail. Indoors, stronger light usually improves flowering, but leaf shape remains the main draw.
