Olea europaea brings narrow silver-green leaves, rugged bark, and a dry Mediterranean habit into containers, making it more about structure and longevity than lush tropical growth. In a pot it usually stays around 1.5–2.5 m indoors, far smaller than outdoor trees, but still develops a woody presence over time.
It needs full sun for much of the day, a sharply draining substrate, and careful watering only after the upper part of the mix has dried, because roots tolerate drought far better than stagnant moisture. Low humidity is not an issue, and good airflow helps keep growth cleaner in bright rooms, balconies, or sheltered terraces.
Creamy flowers may appear in strong light, but fruiting is uncommon indoors. Safe around pets, it suits growers who prefer slower, tougher, sun-loving plants.
