Microsorum musifolium 'Crocodyllus' is grown for long arching fronds marked with raised, netted venation that resembles crocodile skin rather than typical fern texture. This selection is based on an epiphytic species, so it appreciates an airy root zone and steady moisture without stagnant conditions, and it can be grown in a light fern mix or a bark-based substrate. Fronds can reach around 60 cm indoors, giving the plant a broader, more structural presence than many compact ferns.
Bright indirect light, temperatures around 18–27 °C, and humidity around 60–80% suit it well, while direct sun and cold drafts quickly reduce leaf quality.
It is non-toxic and easy to place in homes where bold fern texture matters as much as a straightforward care routine.
