Lepismium cruciforme 'Rojo' is a trailing forest cactus with flattened, winged segments that can shift from green to deep burgundy-red in brighter conditions, giving it more colour complexity than most hanging epiphytic cacti. The stems arch and cascade freely, so the plant shows best in hanging pots, wall planters, or elevated containers where the segmented growth can drape without crowding.
Unlike desert cacti, it prefers bright filtered light, lightly moist but airy substrate, moderate to high humidity, and temperatures around 18–27 °C. Let the mix dry only partly between waterings rather than bone dry, and avoid harsh midday sun or heavy, stagnant soil. It is not known to be toxic and propagates readily from stem cuttings once the pieces have dried and calloused.
