Hoya wayetii is a Philippine trailing species with narrow arching leaves that carry dark burgundy margins, especially in stronger light, and deep burgundy-pink fragrant flowers on mature vines. It is often compared with Hoya kentiana and Hoya shepherdii, but wayetii has thicker, slightly curved leaves and a denser more tactile feel.
Bright indirect light helps bring out the darker edges and supports flowering, while the top part of the mix should dry between waterings to protect the roots. A loose chunky substrate, temperatures around 18–28 °C, and humidity above 50% help it stay compact and healthy, though it is more adaptable than many broader-leaved Hoyas.
Hoya wayetii is one of the best trailing species if you want strong foliage outline, easy culture, and the bonus of dark rich blooms later on.
