Hoya lacunosa 'Laos' is a compact trailing epiphyte with teardrop leaves marked by fine silver mottling and new growth that can flush pink to violet before turning deep green. Once mature it produces clusters of fuzzy cream-white flowers with the sweet cinnamon-like evening fragrance associated with Hoya lacunosa, but the foliage is already attractive long before blooming begins.
Bright indirect light keeps the plant dense, and watering after the top 2 cm of the airy substrate dries gives the roots the wet-dry rhythm they prefer without letting them stay soggy. It grows well in bark-rich mixes or semi-hydro, likes warmth around 18 – 27 °C with moderate humidity, and is generally regarded as non-toxic though the sap can still irritate sensitive skin.
