Hoya crassipetiolata is a Vietnamese species with elongated, glossy, semi-succulent leaves and sturdy petioles that give the vine a distinctly substantial look. It can climb or trail depending on support, and mature plants produce umbels of creamy yellow flowers with pinkish centres, making it useful as both a foliage and flowering Hoya indoors.
Bright indirect light, watering after the top 2 – 3 cm of the airy substrate dry, and a loose bark-coir-perlite mix help keep the roots healthy without letting them stay wet for too long. Warm conditions around 18 – 30 °C, moderate humidity, and leaving the peduncles intact for repeat bloom suit it well; the species is usually considered non-toxic, though sap may irritate sensitive skin.
