Ficus benjamina 'Exotica' is a refined weeping fig cultivar with deep green glossy leaves, arching branch tips, and a softer more flowing canopy than heavier foliage ficus forms. Indoors it can reach around 2.5 m over time, making it useful as a larger room plant or indoor tree where space and light are good.
Bright filtered light keeps it denser, while very dim spots tend to thin the canopy and increase stress-related leaf drop. Water once the top 10–15% of the substrate feels dry, avoid standing water, and keep temperatures around 18–25 °C away from drafts and abrupt changes. Humidity helps in dry homes, but stability matters even more than pampering.
The plant can be pruned into tree form or maintained as a fuller canopy, and like other Ficus it produces irritating white sap and is not safe if pets chew the foliage.
