Epiphyllum pumilum is a smaller orchid cactus with upright woody bases that transition into flatter, pendant stems with toothed margins, giving it a graceful hanging habit even before it flowers. In warm, bright-shaded conditions it produces large fragrant white blooms that open at night and last only briefly, adding a dramatic but fleeting highlight to the plant.
Its epiphytic background means it prefers a barky, airy mix, regular but careful watering, and moderate humidity without stagnant conditions.
Best displayed in a hanging pot or raised position, Epiphyllum pumilum is ideal for growers who want an elegant epiphytic cactus with a softer, more tropical look than desert species.
