Dracaena angolensis 'Straight' emphasizes pure vertical lines, producing thick cylindrical leaves that rise upright with very little flare, creating a columnar clump rather than a wide fan. Indoors it usually stays around 50–60 cm tall, so it gives clear structure without becoming oversized, and its grey-green leaves with fine banding stay attractive indoors.
Like the species, it prefers bright indirect light but survives in lower light if watering is reduced accordingly. A gritty fast-draining succulent mix, dry indoor air, and complete drying between waterings matter more than frequent feeding or humidity. Repotting is only occasional, offsets can be divided when mature, and semi-hydro adaptation is possible though traditional mineral soil remains simpler.
