Dieffenbachia seguine 'Compacta' takes the marbled look of larger dumb cane types and compresses it into a denser, self-heading plant with short internodes and broad elliptical leaves. Most specimens stay around 30–50 cm tall and 30–40 cm wide, so it works well where a full, upright shape is wanted without a tall cane.
Bright indirect light keeps the cream, lime, and deep green pattern clear, though medium light is acceptable, and watering should wait until the top few centimetres of substrate have dried. A light mix with compost, bark, and perlite helps prevent stagnation, while 18–28 °C and moderate humidity suit it well.
Stem cuttings, division, and semi-hydro adaptation are supported by the source. As with other Dieffenbachia cultivars, tissues contain calcium oxalate.
