Dieffenbachia 'Big Ben' combines oversized paddle-shaped leaves, often 30–40 cm long, with cream to lime patterning held inside deep green margins on thick upright stems. As lower leaves age away, the base becomes more cane-like, giving mature plants a taller, shrub-like outline that can reach about 120 cm indoors.
Bright indirect light keeps growth strong, though medium light is tolerated, and watering works best when the top 3–5 cm of substrate have dried. An airy mix with bark, perlite, or pumice helps prevent root problems, while temperatures of 18–28 °C and average to moderately raised humidity support steady leaf production.
It can also adapt to semi-hydro substrates. This cultivar contains calcium oxalate and should be kept away from pets and children.
