Coffea arabica gives you more than the idea of a coffee plant. Its glossy, slightly rippled leaves form a dense shrub that looks good even without flowers, and under the right conditions it can add jasmine-scented white bloom followed by red cherries over time. That makes it one of the more satisfying foliage plants for growers who like a species with real agricultural history and a long-term reward, even if homegrown beans are never the main point.
Coffea arabica does best in bright filtered light, steady warmth, and an evenly moist but breathable substrate with a slightly acidic lean. Higher humidity helps keep the leaves clean and full, while heavy sun and cold drafts usually do more harm than good. Managed well, it stays handsome as a shrub first and a curiosity-bearing crop second, which is exactly why it works indoors.
