Begonia rex 'Black Mambo' is one of the darkest rex types in circulation, with spiral-based leaves that read almost black at first glance but reveal burgundy, plum, charcoal, and olive undertones when the light shifts across the surface. That depth of colour gives Begonia rex 'Black Mambo' real weight in a composition, even though the plant itself stays low and compact.
Its velvety-looking finish and pale stems sharpen the contrast further, so the plant works best where it can be viewed up close rather than lost among larger foliage. If you want one small begonia to anchor a whole arrangement, this cultivar does the job without needing size.
