Rather than stretching into long velvet hearts, Anthurium 'Dorayaki' stays rounded and compact, producing almost circular, softly velvety leaves that can reach about 20–30 cm across. Thick silver venation gives each blade a dense, plated look, while the tidy self-heading habit keeps the plant manageable on shelves or under lights.
It grows best in bright indirect light, steady temperatures around 18–24°C, and an open substrate with bark, perlite, and coco-based material that drains fast but does not dry hard. Rewater when roughly the upper 10–15% of the mix has dried.
Its slower pace and compact footprint make it useful where you want velvet texture without a sprawling plant to manage indoors. Humidity above 60% helps new leaves open with fewer marks.
