Alocasia 'Balloon Heart' inflates classic arrowhead foliage into plump, heart-like blades with pale veins and often a muted purple underside, giving you a softer, fuller take on the sharper Amazonica-style look. The plant stays compact and upright, which is a big part of its appeal indoors: it brings clear Alocasia contrast and structure without becoming oversized or sprawling.
Bright indirect light, warm temperatures, and an airy aroid mix keep the leaves balanced and the roots active, while steady moisture with some drying near the top of the pot prevents the wet-root stress that slows compact hybrids quickly.
Moderate to higher humidity helps new leaves open well, but airflow still matters. It grows from a corm-like base and usually produces only a few substantial leaves at a time, so each blade carries real visual weight. For small shelves, cabinets, or collector displays, it is a tidy, graphic Alocasia with a rounder, more padded feel.
