Aeschynanthus longicaulis, often sold as zebra basketvine, trails in flexible stems lined with elongated leaves marbled in cream-green above and washed purple beneath. That two-sided foliage makes it especially effective at eye level, where both surfaces can be seen as the stems arch or hang. Mature shoots usually reach 30–60 cm and may carry orange-red tubular flowers on older growth when light is strong.
Use a very airy mix, keep the roots slightly pot-tight, and water once the surface has dried without letting the whole pot stay wet. Warm conditions between 18–28 °C and humidity around 50–70% support the best leaf pattern, while deep shade quickly dulls both marbling and bloom potential. Slight root crowding often helps it flower more freely than constant up-potting.
